Welcome to September’s edition of Postcards from Orkney.
There’s a definite hint of autumn in the air now, and plenty to share from the past few weeks.
This month, we’re introducing a new addition to the collection, celebrating September’s beautiful sapphires and having another peek through the team’s camera rolls. We’re also looking ahead to Girls’ Day Out in Kirkwall and, dare we say it, beginning to think about Christmas.
Gorgeous Gifting
We’re not quite ready to say the C word just yet… but there is something to be said for getting ahead. Every piece of our jewellery is made by hand here in Orkney, and finding just the right combination can take a little thought too. So, if you’re already considering something special, our team would be delighted to help with gemstones, colours and combinations.

Girls Day Out
Turning Kirkwall Purple 💜 Kirkwall BID’s Girls’ Day Out is back this October, all in support of CLAN Cancer Support. We’re looking forward to turning Kirkwall purple for the occasion, with a few special things happening in store too. More on those very soon...
Ripple To Roar
A few new pieces have recently joined our Ripple to Roar collection, continuing Alison’s exploration of the movement of the sea around Orkney. From the gentle curve of the Wave Ring to the swirling Whirlpool Ring and new Tideline Bracelet, each captures the water in a slightly different way.
Beautiful Blues
September’s birthstone, is the stunning sapphire. Deep blue, sea green, soft pink and everything in between. September’s birthstone might be best known for its blue, but sapphires come in a beautiful spectrum of colours - many of which feel right at home here in Orkney.
