The Season to Shine and Sustainable Solutions

Tis the season to shine...

We love creating pieces for special occasions, especially Christmas. As a small business, it is one of the most important times in our calendar, it's also our busiest.
Because each piece of our jewellery is handmade in our Orkney workshop, we can often be found enjoying lots of hot cups of tea to help us get through all our orders to be dispatched in time for Christmas.
This year has brought it's own challenges and we're sure you've all got your eye on special pieces to not only make a loved ones Christmas sparkle, but maybe your own too!
So, if you’re planning a purchase for Christmas, please get your order in as soon as you can so that we can make sure that the perfect present is waiting for your special someone. Early orders also mean we can ensure that the wild wintry weather in this part of the world (or indeed postal service strikes!) won’t impact on your plans if we need to post anything out.

Sustainable Solutions

Caring for our environment is more important now than it has ever been before and we are witnessing the devastation that global warming is causing. Many of you that follow me on social media will be aware of my increasing concern about our environment, specifically the amount of plastic found in our oceans.

With our planet at the forefront of our mind, we've decided to change some of the things we do here at Alison Moore. As a starting point, we're really excited to tell you about our new protocol when it comes to ring sizers.

If you are looking to order a ring, but don't know your size, you can now download our wonderful new FREE ring sizer tool. If you're still having trouble determining your size, then you can purchase a plastic refundable belt sizer. Once you're finished with it, pop it in an envelope and send it back to us within 14 days of receipt and we will refund what you paid for it, disinfect it and reuse it, because no one likes single use plastics.

Hello, November

November can be a bit chilly and grey, but the sunshine and sky-blue shades of the month’s birthstones – citrine and topaz – can brighten anyone’s day.
