At Alison Moore Designs, you're always greeted with the biggest smiles and the warmest of welcomes, and this week, our team's efforts have been recognised. We're excited to share that Visit Scotland has awarded us the prestigious five-star Tourist Shop status, and we have a gorgeous new sign proudly displayed in our Stromness Shop front.
Our shop's external appearance, web presence, promotional information, staff hospitality, friendliness, and efficiency were all rated as 'exceptional'.
We’re really delighted with this fantastic award by VisitScotland which reflects the hard work of everyone within the Stromness shop. We pride ourselves on being somewhere that visitors and local people want to come to buy locally made Orkney jewellery, and we always try to ensure everyone gets the best of experiences when they’re spending time with us. Our customers can actually view pieces being made in our workshop window, or even make jewellery for themselves in one of the classes I’m now offering.
As an Orkney business, we take our role as tourism ambassadors very seriously and recognise the part we can play in helping maintain the reputation of the islands as a place where visitors get the warmest of welcomes.
