October Birthstone Jewellery

Those of you with an October birthday are lucky to have two birthstones to choose from – opal and tourmaline, both equally captivating and colourful. 

Kaleidoscopes of the gemstone world, opals are highly prized for the remarkable spectrum of colours they display. That quality is all down to the microscopic silica spheres within their structure, which refract light and create a rainbow effect.

Opals contain a small percentage of water, and they’re not the hardest of gemstones which means they require extra care and attention to ensure they last a lifetime. 

Tourmaline is a more durable alternative, but just as dazzling. The gem is found in a variety of colours, but the green and pink varieties are our favourites – with a fruity, fresh and fun feel to them.
