Delivery and Returns

Delivery times 

All of our jewellery is handmade, but we do try to keep some items in stock.  These will be sent within 4 working days of placing the order. Personalised items generally take up to 5 working days to be dispatched.  Gold and made to order jewellery usually takes a little longer for despatch at around 2-3 weeks.  Any time or date stated for delivery is an estimate only.  If you require an item urgently for a special date or event please contact us as more often than not we can work to shorter time scales.  

Delivery is free to all UK addresses.  Goods are sent out using Royal Mail and may require a signature upon arrival.

Items are sent to overseas addresses via tracked delivery services at a cost of £10 per order.  Please note that customers are responsible for all duties and customs charges.  We currently ship to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong.

Returns & Exchanges

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your online purchase and would like to exchange or refund, please return the item to us in its original, unworn condition within 14 days of receipt. Alternatively, we are happy to offer an exchange or gift voucher within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are made via the same payment method you used online.  Postage on returns is non-refundable. We do not offer refunds via our Orkney shop.

If you purchased your item in our Orkney shop and would like to return it, we offer an exchange for another item or a gift voucher within 14 days of purchase. We do not offer a refund on shop bought items.

Exempt from any exchange or refund are bespoke pieces and items that have been customised to a customer’s request.

If we find that the product has not been returned to us in fully resalable condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund or exchange on the item.  Please ensure that the items are safely packaged and returned to us using a signed for delivery service and include a reason for return.  We cannot be held responsible for items that are lost in transit whilst being returned to us.

In the case of exchanges, a re-delivery charge will apply of £5, or £10 for items sent internationally.


At the discretion of Alison Moore Designs, an item will be repaired or replaced if any manufacturer defects are found in the first six months from the date of the purchase. Normal wear and tear and customer abuse is not covered under warranty and repairs will be quoted for on a case-by-case basis.

Please note we are not responsible for cost of return postage unless items delivered are faulty or incorrect.  If this should occur, please contact us.  Please allow seven working days for returns to be processed once they reach us.

If it is an international return, please clearly label the package "Returned for Repair" or "Returned for refund".  This will ensure that your returned goods are not held in UK customs, which could otherwise result in delays in processing your refund or you may become liable for customs charges.

It is the customer's responsibility to provide an accurate ring size prior to production. Pieces will be resized on a case-by-case basis and come with a resizing fee. Pieces such as eternity bands, intricate settings, or pieces featuring certain gemstones cannot be resized. Please allow 1-2 weeks for resizing.
