September - Sapphire or Lapis Lazuli
We want you feeling blue in September, but in a nice way, offering the choice of both sapphire and lapis lazuli for your birthstone jewellery.
Sapphires have long been regarded as having divine qualities and they’re revered as much today as they were by ancient civilisations.
Like its relative the ruby, sapphire is a gemstone variety of corundum, the incredibly robust mineral that’s second only to diamond in term of official hardness. So, it’s pretty and tough. We like that.
Sapphires actually come in a variety of colours, but for us the blue ones are the loveliest and most traditional for use as a September birthstone.
We realise though that sapphires command a higher price than many of the gemstones we use, so we’ve also included some lavish blue lapis lazuli options in our birthstone collection.
