For those of you who followed the link through from my newsletter, I mentioned there that we’ve been incredibly busy here at AMD Towers. From settling into our new shop and workshop to introducing new designs, testing our new jewellery making workshops, and, finally, celebrating my birthday, it's safe to say we've been rather busy.
So let me start by telling you a little bit more about my new jewellery making workshops that are launching this month.
Many of my wonderful customers have expressed interest in these workshops for quite some time, and I'm thrilled to announce that the first batch of workshop dates for October is now released. Hosted from my Stromness workshop and with limited spaces in each class; I’ll guide and support you in creating your very own sterling silver stacking ring set. You’ll learn the basics of jewellery making including how to size your ring, cutting, shaping, filing, texturing and finishing. With a great variety of textures and surface finishes available, the stack you create will be unique to you.

Just a few weeks ago, I introduced my latest collection, the Northern Lights Collection, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. It happened to coincide with a week when we were treated to a breathtaking display of the Northern Lights in the skies over Orkney. Talk about perfect timing - it felt like a truly magical moment and the perfect reward for all our hard work in creating the collection.
Over the summer I introduced a couple of additional new pieces to the shop, and one in particular, has received a lot of love from my lovely Facebook followers. My new Sea Urchin Aquamarine Silver Studs are the teeniest tiniest, yet the most intricately detailed little sea urchins you’ll ever see - we are obsessed. Keep your eyes peeled for matching pieces coming soon….
Continuing with the Rockpool theme and also introduced to the shop this year, silver Horse Mussel Shell pieces were added to the collection; you can find these in pendants, bracelets and earrings. Go have a peak.
And finally, it was my birthday yesterday - another year older, and only a bit wiser!
